Account Types Admin Screen Updates
🧾 Tax Exempt Accounts
Easily mark and manage tax exempt accounts for law enforcement, rescue groups, etc. Any patients attached to a tax exempt account will not have taxes added to their invoices for taxable line items.
Permissions
You will need to have the manage_tax_exempt permission added to a role in order to enable or remove an Account’s Tax Exempt status.
Enabling Tax Exempt Status
To mark an Account as being Tax Exempt, enter the Account edit modal and toggle Tax Exempt ON.

✏️ Spellcheck
With our newest Electron update, we introduced spellcheck into the Instinct desktop app! Now you can easily save medical words to your computer’s dictionary with just a click. 💪

🖥️ Account Types Admin Screen Updates
Deactivated Account Types will no longer display on the Account Types screen in the Admin section of Instinct.
Clicking the trash can icon will permanently delete the selected Account Type and remove it from all account associations.
Deleted Account Types cannot be reactivated, but they can be recreated and reassigned.


💬 Comm Log Messages
The full name of hospital staff will no longer be visible to owners when sending messages via the Comm Log!
- For staff, the Comm Log email will only include first name and last initial
- For doctors the Comm Log emails will still include Dr. followed by their first and last name
💸 Standalone Invoicing!
Standalone Invoices allows you to create, close, and take payment on invoices for products that are sold to clients in between visits, such as food and prescriptions, without having to check the client in.
To access the RX and Invoice options for any checked out patient, click the 3-dot menu next to the patient’s name when searching the Patient Registration in the Business Office, or the left navigation bar’s Look Up:

To create an invoice for a patient that is not currently checked in, navigate to the patient’s Invoice screen:
- Click + New Invoice at the top of the Invoices column
- Enter Reason for Invoice
- Select Provider
- Add Products or Product Groups to the Invoice
- Collect payment as you normally would in the Payments & Ledger screen
- Or Close the Invoice using the Close Invoice button

To create or refill an RX for a patient that is not currently checked in, navigate to the patient’s RX panel:
- Search for and select a product to prescribe
- Complete the form and click Prescribe
- A PDF prescription label is generated
- A new Standalone Invoice is created with the prescription line item or the prescription line item is placed on the most recent open Invoice
