🔘 Comm Log Button Added to Business Office
The Comm Log button can now be accessed from the Business Office and is available in every tab!
Please Note: Only one panel will display at a time so if you already have an Appointment panel open, it will close when you open the Comm log.

💊 Plumb’s Veterinary Medication Guide Improvements
Plumb’s Veterinary Medication Guides will now automatically pop-out in a separate window when prescribing a medication!

📓 Please Note: This feature only applies if a Plumb’s Veterinary Medication Guide is available for the medication. If a medication has multiple Veterinary Medication Guides and you’re using Instinct in a Chrome browser, your Chrome pop-up blocker must be manually configured to ‘enable pop-ups’ in order for this to display.
🚨 Patient Safety Warnings in mg/m2 now released
A couple of weeks ago, we informed you that we were preparing to allow the ability to add patient safety warnings in mg/m2. This feature has been released and you can view our Careville article to learn more about it!

📧 Sending Attachments via Comm Log
In case you missed it, our Comm Log now includes the option to send an outbound email to your clients and will automatically log the message details in the Comm Log. In addition to sending an email, you can now add attachments directly to the Comm Log via the ‘Attachments’ button. Two-way messaging is not currently supported.
📓 Important Note: Some set up is required by Hospital Administrators before this can be utilized. If you do not have our Comm Log email feature enabled, please contact us at support@instinct.vet.
The new Attachments feature is located at the bottom of the Send tab in the Comm Log.

Once selected, you can easily attach any Document that already exists in the patient’s Chart. However, PDFs and common image files are the only file types that will display as options to attach to an email. All other file types are not supported to be sent through the Comm Log Email feature.

Once sent, the email will include a download link to the PDF which will include all of the selected attachments in one file. Clicking on the download link will automatically download the PDF and open it, then the recipient can either print or save to their computer. The emailed link will remain available for 30 days before it expires.
The Comm Log history will also record if there were any Attachments included in the email.

💡ProTip: Learn more about the Comm Log feature, emailing, and attachments in our Careville article!
🔖 Account Type Labels
A new permission has been added in the Staff Roles called Admin Account Types.
- Selecting this Permission for a Role will enable you to view and manage the Account Types admin page.
- Unselecting this Permission for a Role will disable your view to the Account Types admin page.
📓 Please Note: This permission will not be enabled by default. Hospital administrators will need to update the Roles manually if they want this Permission.

Account Types Page Added to Admin
There is a new Admin page to manage Account Types, but you must have the Admin Account Types permission enabled to see this page. Account Types are internal tags for grouping accounts. Instinct will never show these on screens or PDFs designed for clients or rVets

Account Types Displayed in Business Office
Once you’ve added Account Types in the Admin section of Instinct, you can now add those tags to client Accounts. To add an Account Type to a client Account, click on the Owner information in the Patient Info Bar within the Patient Visit screen, or navigate to the Business Office and select/search for the name of the Account you’d like to update.

Account Types will be visible under a new column in Business Office > Accounts.

Account Type Will Display in Financials
For EMR hospitals using Account Ledger, the Account Type will display when viewing individual ledgers on the Account header section underneath the Account Name.

🔗 Patient Info Bar Clickable Links to Account, Patient, and Referrers
You can now quickly edit Patient, Owner, and Referred By information by clicking directly on those headers in the Patient Info Bar! Prior to this update, you could only make these changes by navigating to the Business Office.

📆 New Permissions for Appointment Calendar
A new permission setting called Calendar Manage Appointments has been added to the Manage User Roles, allowing users to create and manage Appointments, Events, and Drop-Offs.
For EMR hospitals with Appointment Calendar already enabled, we’ve gone ahead and created a new User Role named Calendar Scheduler which includes this permission by default. This has been added to all of your current users so everyone still has full access to the Appointment and Event Calendars. If this User Role is removed from a user (or unchecked under permissions), users will have read-only permissions and be unable to schedule Appointments, Events, or Drop-Offs.

📞 Patient Info Bar “Referred By” Section Improvements
Referrer Phone, Email, and Fax now have an option to be marked as Preferred or changed into a Custom Label by clicking on the Referred By header, or by going to the Business Office > Referrers. Hovering over the contact information in the Patient Info Bar will show a tooltip with the Preferred or Custom Label (if any).

Stay tuned for even more updates in the coming weeks! 🚀
